Tomorrow's the big day. My first RUN. I've been training for this for 5 months to go from someone who couldn't run to the end of her driveway, to a person who plans to run most of a 14km race.
I am sh-tting myself. To put it politely.
Here's the things I'm doing today to prepare for tomorrow:
1) Drinking lots of water (am up to 1.5L)
2) Have packed my little back pack for tomorrow with: a banana, a protein bar, 2 peanut butter sandwiches, 2 bottles of Powerade, change of clothes, Ventolin puffer, safety pins, my back number, my timing chip, Vaseline, Bandaids, a handkerchief, my insoles, my running shoes, suncream, deoderant.
3) Am going to do some yoga this afternoon to stretch. Planning to go to bed before 10pm tonight.
4) Have taken an extra vitamin tablet, plus a magnesium supplement to ease muscle cramps.
Tomorrow, I plan to wake up early (bus comes at 5:45am) and eat porridge and a banana for breakfast, and have the protein bar and the Powerade on the bus at mid-morning.
In my pocket, I will have my puffer, Vaseline, the handkerchief, extra safety pins, the bandaids.
Must remember to attach my timing chip.
So I guess my next post will be a post-race debriefing... See you on the other side (Hopefully).
Wish me luck!

GOOD LUCK!!!! I know you'll do a phenomenal job - can't wait to hear all about it :)
Good luck, fellow Snail, I am sure you will do well. Remember -- Life is short, running makes it seem longer.
